As a mother of five children, I know first hand how rewarding and challenging parenting can be. Each child in your family comes into this world with a core set of unique skills, abilities, interests and talents. I believe part of our job as parents is to help them discover and bring to the surface their hidden talents and interests. I believe we can do this by encouraging and respecting your child’s uniqueness. Lend them your ears, always catch them doing something right, talk with them not to them. Parenting requires support, and these supports can be found within your family, friends and community. The Resource Guide is the largest and most comprehensive guide provided free in York Region to families. It is our hope that the Guide will help you connect to those programs and services in our community that will provide support and information on your parenting journey.
